2.06.2021The University of Northampton’s Centre for Sustainable Business Practices (CSBP) launches a new hub for corporate responsibility and sustainability on 16 June as part of its aim to help businesses Build Back Better.
The Northamptonshire Hub will see University of Northampton academics and students, in partnership with the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS), support regional businesses to embrace corporate responsibility and sustainability.
The Hub will launch on 16 June, with an informative discussion on the fast-moving corporate responsibility and sustainability landscape, with insights into the topic of Circular Economy, B Corp certification, and much more. It will be hosted by Associate Professor at the University of Northampton, Adrian Pryce DL.
Speaking about the launch of the ICRS Northamptonshire Hub, Adrian, CSBP Outreach Lead at the University of Northampton, and an ICRS Fellow, said: “The University of Northampton is renowned for its focus on social change, so we are proud to be launching the ICRS Northamptonshire Hub.
“In this challenging economic environment, consumers and businesses are increasingly making smart and responsible choices with their spending, and alignment of business relationships. Businesses that demonstrate their commitment to progressing the environmental and social agenda will retain a competitive advantage.
“The Hub will provide a fantastic forum for businesses to meet fellow corporate social responsibility colleagues, facilitate knowledge exchange and keep up to date with trends and developments in the space. I believe the work of the Hub will support businesses to build back better, and embrace a more responsible, sustainable and ethical approach to business, which will see the county’s economy flourish.”
The Northamptonshire Hub will support business leaders to understand and adopt responsible and sustainable business practices, by honing skills, sharing knowledge and experience, connecting across sector boundaries, and the opportunity to gain professional recognition for their achievements.
At the launch of the Hub, David Logan, ICRS board member with over 35 years of international experience, will share his view of corporate social responsibility and the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) landscape, followed by an interactive session on Circular Economy business models, led by Gerrard Fisher and Jennifer Decker of QSA Partners – Northamptonshire’s first certified B Corp company.
The launch event will take place virtually on Wednesday, June 16, from 16:30 – 18:00. The event is free of charge, and open to all – members and non-members of ICRS, from Northants or not.
