Accommodation Guarantee
We guarantee a room in our Halls of Residence for all new full-time, first year students starting with us in September 2025* who apply and accept their room offer by the date that applies to status. See the details for home and international applicants below.
No deposit required
We recognise the significant challenges families are facing due to the rising cost of living, and we won’t be asking students joining us in September 2025* to pay an upfront accommodation deposit when reserving a place in our Halls of Residence.
International students guarantee – January 2025 intake
To be eligible for this guarantee, you need to hold a conditional or unconditional offer for January 2025 and pay your tuition deposit as stated on your offer letter. We need to have received your deposit by 16 December 2024 for you to be eligible for the guarantee.
After we have received your tuition fee deposit, we will contact you by email to invite you to apply for a place in Halls. You will need to register for the accommodation portal and then make your application.
International T&Cs
- Only applicants offered a place on a full time, on-campus undergraduate, undergraduate top-up or postgraduate taught course for January 2025 entry are eligible for the guarantee.
- Only students beginning their first year at the University of Northampton are eligible. Returning students are not eligible.
- Only applicants applying for University-owned accommodation are eligible for the guarantee.
- To meet the guarantee criteria, applicants must have accepted their course offer, paid their deposit in full by 16 December 2024 and made an application for accommodation.
- The University must have received the fee deposit by 16 December 2024 for the guarantee to stand.

UK students guarantee
If you are a UK student and hold a conditional or unconditional Firm offer of a course place at the University of Northampton, we will contact you by email to invite you to apply for a place in Halls (this will usually be from March before you are due to start your studies). Accommodation application details will be sent to you once you have accepted your offer on your UCAS Hub and we have received your tuition fee deposit. You will need to register for the accommodation portal and then make your application.
Firm choice applicants need to apply and accept their room offer by 30 June 2025*.
Please note: Applicants are not guaranteed their first-choice room or location. Rooms are allocated on a first come, first served basis, so please reply as soon as you receive your invitation to apply for Halls.
