Welcome to Artificial Intelligence and Data Science BSc 2024.
I am pleased to welcome you all to the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science course at the University of Northampton.
Artificial intelligence is driving a new era of innovation in public health, manufacturing, logistics, and many other areas of our lives. This programme equips students with research, design, and programming skills to develop or work with artificial intelligence techniques in real-world scenarios. In a state-of-the-art AI lab with 24/7 access, students develop and deploy applied AI solutions individually and as part of a team. We are also part of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy, delivering accredited cloud computing courses to prepare students for industry-recognised certifications and the most in-demand careers in the cloud industry. We’re confident that you will stand out from the crowd when you graduate.

Equipment
You will have access to several on-site computer labs including a state-of-the-art 24/7 AI Lab.
Whilst it is possible to complete assignments using only the university facilities, in reality, much of your practical study and portfolio development will need to be done outside of timetabled sessions. We recommend all students have access to an up-to-date Windows PC or MAC at home.
Windows PC with a Nvidia graphics card is recommended but not mandatory.
