Molecular Medicine MSc Welcome Pack

Welcome to Molecular Medicine MSc 2024.

Welcome to the University of Northampton.

This is an exciting new chapter in your life, and we are looking forward to welcoming you and supporting your growth as scientists and individuals. This course provides you with a broad understanding of the molecular basis of biological systems. You will develop your understanding of human disease and learn to apply cutting-edge approaches to help tackle global health issues. You will gain extensive research experience by undertaking modules based upon your own interests through negotiated learning and research projects. This includes working in dedicated research labs to give you the laboratory exposure and specialist skills required by employers. Your employability will be further increased by applying science communication skills to promote topics of interest that you have studied. This will help you pursue a research career, such as a PhD, or opportunities in academia, industry, and clinical sectors.

Our teaching is research led and based on the principles of Active Blended Learning (ABL) to enhance the learning experience, by enabling digital technologies and interactive learning. The key elements of this are active engagement and participation of students. Our aim is to help students maximise their potential and develop their skills so they can go on to lead successful careers.

Above all, we hope your time at university is as enjoyable and productive as possible.
