E-sports and Game Development


Our Game Design and Development courses are offered as flexible, part-time and full-time, undergraduate programmes to help you develop keys skills. This undergraduate portfolio of Games programmes covers all aspects of the game creation – from programming to the design and artwork.

Esports BSc students benefit from our HP Omen equipped esports lab, professional standard Greaves 3D sim racing rigs, and media studios to use throughout their studies. The University of Northampton is a member of the Unreal Academic Partner Program, exposing students to professional tools to further learning opportunities.

E-Sport and Games Degree Information


  • By pursuing a Games Design, E-Sports or Animation degree with the University of Northampton, whether you choose full-time or part-time study options, you’ll learn from industry professionals and have the opportunity to use industry leading software.

    Our Animation degree offers practical learning in areas such as motion capture, visual effects, storyboarding and both 2D and 3D animation for video game development.Students will be equipped with the skills to create professional animations in a variety of digital media formats.

    Our E-Sport BSc course provides students with modules including business and marketing esports, events, broadcasting and esports coaching. Throughout the practical learning opportunities, you’ll develop skills in casting, streaming, and even content creation.

    A degree in Games Art focuses on the visual aspects of video games, including concepts such as 3D modeling, environment and character design and UI. Collaborating without Games students, you’ll have the opportunity to produce commercial quality games.

    Our Games Programming Degree enables students to develop the knowledge and skills needed to have a successful career in the Computer Games Industry. Games Programming students can also benefit from state-of-the-art equipped computer labs.

    Graduates from our UON BA Animation Degree have been equipped with the skills to work in roles such as an Animator, Art Designer, Storyboard Artist, Video Game Developer, Graphic Designer and even a Web Designer.
